“Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year”

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

About The Film

Harpreet Singh Bedi (Ranbir Kapoor) has just graduated, and his marks are, well, let's say a little embarrassing. But marks never stopped him from dreaming of an exciting and adventurous career, and they never will.

'Rocket Singh - Salesman of the Year' is the sometimes thoughtless, sometimes thoughtful story of a fresh graduate trying to find a balance between the maddening demands of the 'professional' way, and the way of his heart - and stumbling upon a crazy way which turned his world upside down, and his career right side up. Welcome to the world of sales, boss!

A Short Convo With... Kid Sister

Your original album title was Koko B. Ware wasn't it?

That was about two years ago. It was Koko B. Ware and then it was Dream Date and then we completely changed the album and decided to change the title as well.

What happened in between then?

It was just a completely different aesthetic so I was like, let me just pick something that seems more fitting. It seemed like we were going for more of an electronic feel so if you're wondering why the album is titled [Ultraviolet], when I was younger I used to go to a teen club called Jubilation and every time you would go in there it was, like, ultraviolet lighting. It was all black-lighted out and as a 13-year-old, I mean that was the most exciting visually stimulating thing I'd ever seen, so I named [the album] that kind of in commemoration as cheesy as that sounds but I'm a cheesy girl.

When "Pro Nails" came out, the big thing was the Kanye cosign. Have you kept that relationship going?

It's always going. Like, I was at the VMAs; I saw him the night before. I said, "What's going on? How's it going?" Whenever he's in town, we do shows, that kind of thing, so yeah. It's just all part of the musical family that we have so it's not like it was just a professional collaboration. It's more of a friendship than a contact.

I DON'T WANNA BURST YOUR BUBBLE BUUUUUT GRAB A TOWEL AND THROW IT IN )

TYFYT, HAVE A NICE NIGHT

No one knows how to party hard like Andrew Wilkes-Krier.

This is a fact.

He's been entertaining/baffling/terrifying innocent spectators for years now--ever since he started performing kamikaze karaoke at New York coffeehouses, accompanied only by a cheap boombox, thus making it impossible for customers to enjoy their Espresso Macchiatos in peace. Andrew WK is always a startling vision of pure white light/white heat as he lumbers wildly about a stage, attacks his piano, or blows stuff up with boylike abandon on his self-explanatorily titled reality show Destroy Build Destroy--all the while looking like a rock 'n' roll version of the Incredible Hulk with all the green body paint bleached away.

And last night, AWK continued to amaze, amuse, and confuse over at L.A.'s Gibson showroom, where for an intimate gathering of 100 amped-on-free-Monster-energy-drinks fans (some of whom had their nostrils smeared with fake blood in his honor), he put on a stream-of-consciousness, freeform, piano solo concert. WHILE PLAYING LIBERACE'S FAMOUS MIRRORED PIANO.

I could not possibly make this up. Paste Magazine is reporting that singer-songwriter Tom Waits is possibly up for the lead in Peter Jackson’s and Guillermo del Toro’s recreation of The Hobbit.

Just slid in under the turnstile. See the email below for all the info.

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well. In an unexpected twist, one of the announced Grammy
candidates for Best Song written for a Soundtrack has been disqualified
after the fact (Miley Cyrus in fact).

The nomination then goes to the song with the next-highest initial vote
count, which is Karen O and the Kids’ “All is Love”.

Great news all around- it will be included in all ballots going soon to
Grammy voters and we are working on a press release now.

Please let me know your thoughts and questions- still brand new info to us
but we are diving into it now.

Thank you and congrats!

No official word yet as to why it was DQed but: "The Climb" was not originally written for the 2009 musical film Hannah Montana: The Movie.

So I went to check out the NINE premiere in Westwood about an hour ago, since I go to UCLA and live 2 blocks away. It was cooooold and rather insane, but I got a few ok pics of the stars on the red carpet. The quality is somewhat crappy because we were facing the lights on the red carpet...it's a wonder more celebs don't have eye trouble. Anyway, pics under the cut!

A partly naked photo of fugitive director Roman Polanski and his late wife, Sharon Tate, sold for $11,250 at auction in the US.

The photograph was sold to an unnamed bidder by Christie's.

It shows Polanski and the tragic Tate in an embrace without clothes from the waist up. Tate, an actress, was murdered in 1969 when pregnant by followers of Charles Manson.

Polanski, meanwhile, is under house arrest in his Swiss chalet, the Milky Way, atop a mountainside in Switzerland. He spent more than two months in a Zurich jail after police arrested him at a film festival.

The Swiss authorities were reported weighing the extradition request of the United States for Polanski to return to Los Angeles and face 30-year-old charges.

Polanski has eluded American authorities for three decades. He faces charges of unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977.
